LATIN WORKOUT – GET FIT THE FUN WAY!



Latin American is one of the most popular forms of partner dancing throughout the world, and now it’s been re-developed by Footwork into a great cardio workout format where you don't need a partner.

You can burn off kilos AND have a great time with Latin American dance moves. LATIN WORKOUT™ is a high-energy 45-minute exercise program designed to build cardio fitness and help you lose weight in a fun relaxed environment in a dance studio rather than a gym. Each class session includes:

  • Warm-up and Stretch
  • Pump and Cardio
  • Warm down

Most of the actions are based on standard Latin American and Ballroom dance moves, normally used in partner dancing. However you don’t need to have a partner for our LATIN WORKOUT™ classes as the entire group does the same activity individually. Basic steps and moves are used from dances such as Cha Cha, Rumba, Salsa, Meringue, Jive, Samba, Mambo, Hussle, Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep and others.

There are no lifts or bounce and participants remain on their feet for the duration of the class. The music is modern, cool and popular and the instructors vary the music to suit the dance and intensity level of the class.

So don’t feel that you’re too old or too unfit for LATIN WORKOUT™. We start off at an easy pace and build up as your fitness level increases. In fact, many people taking up an activity after a significant spell find that they’re even more capable than before they stopped.
Clothing is casual - T-shirt, track pants, 3/4 pants or shorts, gym/jazz shoes, dance sneakers, trainers or flat shoes.

Latin Workout classes run for 45 minutes. Entry is casual which means you do not have to attend every class - just as it suits you.

Latin Workout classes are on hold until Spring 2010.
