Rachel and Terry Kawiti started their dance careers back in 1982 as recreational dancers. They soon got ‘hooked on dance’ and rapidly progressed through the competitive ranks, representing Hamilton for eight years on the national and international dance scene. During their highly successful amateur competition career they achieved several NZ National Dance Championship Titles.

In 1993 both Rachel and Terry qualified as Professional Dance Teachers and decided to share their dance knowledge with others. That was the start of the Footwork Dancesport Studio and today its great reputation as a leading dance studio in the Waikato Region is the result.

Due to the increasing popularity of Ballroom and Latin American dancing in recent years and the expansion of Footwork Dancesport Studio, we now have several dance Teachers, all with extensive backgrounds in both competition and recreational dancing.
